Reddit administrators moderate the communities. Submissions with more upvotes appear towards the top of their subreddit and, if they receive enough upvotes, ultimately on the site's front page. Posts are organized by subject into user-created boards called "communities" or "subreddits". Registered users (commonly referred to as "redditors") submit content to the site such as links, text posts, images, and videos, which are then voted up or down by other members. This industry is in it's infancy, and we are witnessing it hit puberty.ġ.) The next few years of this industry ain't gonna be boring.Ģ.) You get paid per hour, not per task you accomplish.Reddit ( / ˈ r ɛ d ɪ t/) is an American social news aggregation, content rating, and discussion website. If they are successful, they will control their own destiny, if they are not, they will continue to smuck it out in our gloriously entertaining defecation chain. The smart companies are trying to make their own IPs and break out of being a service provider. People will continue to get jaded, they will continue to seek new employment, only to eventually find out it's the same old shit wherever you go. This is a passion industry, people want to be here, every studio that fails, is an opportunity for someone else to build a studio and fail 5 years later. As companies fail, and people are laid off, there will be plenty more to take their place. You will continue to miss the point, and not see the bigger picture. They will continue to not see the bigger picture. They will continue to race to the bottom. VFX will continue to be a service provider. Once the little shit birds are out of the market, then they'll just go back to cutting costs and creating the lowest cost thing that you'll accept until eventually pirating becomes more convenient than streaming again, and then we'll see it swing back the other way. The next few years will be dark for CG industry, we will continue to see cost cutting measures from major studios, as they realize that they're literally just burning cash to create shit content which is unwatchable, we'll have AI to do that for us soon enough! The streaming wars will continue to cut down, as major players establish their dominance over smaller players and push them out of the market. If you add 2 and 2 here, you'll probably get potato. the last time they went on strike was in 2007, the first super hero film was released in 2008. The past 5 years of TV/Film should show why they are so afraid for their jobs, and I would be to if I was them. It can only create the same shit that's already been created, it cannot create anything truly unique, or anything that will really push the viewer to the edges of their seats. Writers are afraid for AI replacing their jobs, and rightfully so, AI can only create boring monetenous stories. Why would you pay some A list actor $50m, when you can get a hobo with strings attached to them, and then replace all of their acting in CG later? Not like the industry isn't already doing a fair amount of this anyways when the acting sucks, or the director decides they want to completly change the shot at the last minute, or some other pedantic reason like the actor got fat and ugly or some shit like that. The more people are told that digidoubles were created, or a face replacement was done on something they didn't notice, the more scared the actors get, because it directly effects their job stability. Rhythm and Hues? Andy Circus? The continued effort to down play the use of CG in films? The more CG is in the film, the more job instability actors have. Right now what we are seeing is the end of the streaming wars, and the rise of AI scaring people who have long shat on the VFX industry, and chances are they'll continue to shit on the the VFX industry right after they finish striking.
